MILAN (AP) — Kim Gilli denied South Korea teammate Minjeong Choi her third consecutive Olympic gold in the women's 1,500 meters in short-track speedskating Friday night, while Corinne Stoddard earned a drought-ending bronze medal for the U.

A two-time Olympian, Stoddard's best finish prior to this race was a 7th place in the 1000m in Beijing in 2022.

Canada's men's short track relay team, which arrived at the Milano-Cortina Olympics to defend its 5,000-metre title, finished last of four teams on Friday. The Netherlands won gold for the first time in the event at the Games in six minutes 51.

Day 14 from Milan Cortina will see six more Winter Olympics gold medals awarded. It starts with freeski women’s ski cross and men’s aerials, before the men’s halfpipe competition concludes later. More medals will be handed out in speedskating too,

Italy’s Arianna Fontana has won her 12th Olympic medal and third gold at her sixth Winter Games. That extends her record as the most decorated short track speedskater of all time.
